San Rafael guitar store owner buys famous Sausalito recording studio building

SAUSALITO -- Mike Indelicato, longtime owner of vintage guitar store E*Guitars in San Rafael, has purchased the Sausalito building that houses the famous The Plant Studios musical recording house. He plans to work with the studio owner on upgrades.

Mr. Indelicato bought 2200 Bridgeway from Sausalito real estate investment group EMIC Properties earlier this week for $2.3 million, according to the group's real estate agent in the deal, Connie Bradley of Orion Partners. The deal was in escrow for seven months. Mr. Indelicato represented himself.

The Plant, owned by CEO Arne Frager since 1988, has been manufacturing hit records for more than three decades from bands such as Jefferson Airplane et al, Santana, and Metallica.
